Current Research Interests

  • Atomic scale characterization of electrified solid/liquid interfaces by means of in-situ scanning tunneling microscopy (STM), in-situ surface X-ray diffraction (experiments at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility ESRF in Grenoble) and ex-situ XPS (experiments at the synchrotron light source BESSY II in Berlin).
  • Surface confined electron transfer reactions; 2D phase behavior of redox-active organic molecules.
  • 2D compound formation at solid/liquid interfaces.
  • The role additives in the Damascene process (copper plating on patterned Si wafers).
